Who’s that person you never met but was larger than life and influenced you growing up? For Adam, it was Steve Prefontaine who’s known throughout running circles simply as Pre. He was an American distance runner and iconic trailblazer for many reasons. With much to admire between seven different American records and competing in the 1972 Olympics, it was his mindset that inspired Adam the most.
“I do it because I can,
I can because I want to,
I want to because you told me I couldn’t.”
Adam spent 14 years in leadership roles as a Navy SEAL where he attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Among other assignments, he served as Platoon Commander at SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team One, Operations Officer of SEAL Team One, Strategic Planner at Special Operations Command – Central, and Executive Officer of SEAL Team Seven. He was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor while serving as Mission Commander on a sensitive operation.
After the Navy, Adam brought his leadership to the automotive industry and finance. At General Motors, he was the Business Manager for the Vice President of Engineering, where he served a Chief of Staff function across eight executive directors while managing a $3.5 billion budget. At AIG, he was a Divisional Vice President where he consulted with financial advisors on retirement solutions.
Today, Adam has two businesses. His passion is running Hatmada LLC. Additionally, he enjoys helping people with creative wealth planning solutions. In March of 2017, the Governor of Michigan appointed him to the Veterans Facilities’ Board of Managers where he is serving a three-year term.
Adam is a proud graduate of the United States Naval Academy. He is happily married with three wonderful children.
